readthrough
Privacy policy
Effective September 29, 2026. JAMN Ventures, LLC.
This policy explains what JAMN Ventures, LLC collects when you use readthrough, why, and what we do with it. The short version: we collect what it takes to run your account and deliver the service, we do not sell it, and the documents we summarize are public records, not your data.
What we collect
- Account: your email address, the workspace you belong to, your role in it, and when you signed in. If you sign in with Google, we receive the email address and name Google shares; we do not receive your Google password.
- Workspace settings: workspace name, allowed email domains, watch lists (the companies, drugs, and targets you follow), digest schedule, feed tokens, and webhook URLs.
- Billing: plan, seat count, and subscription status. Payment details go directly to Stripe; we store Stripe’s customer and subscription identifiers and the billing email, never card numbers.
- Usage: server logs (IP address, browser type, pages requested, timestamps) and delivery records (which stories were emailed or posted to which address or webhook, so nothing is sent twice). We use Google Analytics to see which pages are read, where visitors come from, and how many complete key steps (signing up, starting and completing a subscription, requesting enterprise access). It receives page addresses, a browser identifier, the name of each step, and for purchases the plan, seat count, and amount; never your email, workspace, or watch lists. No advertising trackers.
- Correspondence: anything you send to hello@readthrough.news, and what you send with the feedback button (your message; the page you were on with technical details to help us look into it, such as the window size, browser, time zone, and any script errors on that page; your account email and workspace; and your IP address, to stop abuse).
How we use it
- To sign you in, run your workspace, and rank stories against your watch lists.
- To send what you asked for: sign-in codes, the daily digest, getting-started instructions, and billing receipts.
- To bill subscriptions and prevent abuse of the service.
- To find and fix problems, and to understand which features are used, in aggregate.
Watch lists are used only to select and rank stories for your workspace. They are not shared with other customers, and we do not disclose which companies a customer follows.
AI processing
Summaries are written by large language models (Anthropic’s Claude) from public documents: filings, approvals, recalls, and trial records. Those documents, not your account data or watch lists, are what is sent to the model. We do not send your email address, settings, or usage to any AI provider.
Who else sees it
We use these providers to run the service, each under its own privacy commitments and only for the purpose named:
- Supabase (database, authentication, hosting in the United States)
- Netlify (web hosting and serverless functions)
- Stripe (payments and invoices)
- Twilio SendGrid (email delivery)
- Anthropic (language models, public documents only)
- GitHub (scheduled data collection jobs)
A small number of readthrough staff can view a workspace as its admin sees it (watch lists, settings, and the feed) to provide support or investigate a problem. That view is read-only, lasts at most an hour, and every use is logged with who opened it and when.
We disclose personal data beyond that only when the law requires it, to protect the service or its users, or as part of a sale or merger of the business (in which case this policy continues to apply). We do not sell personal data and do not share it for advertising.
Cookies
The app sets a session cookie so you stay signed in (up to a month of inactivity) a small number of preference cookies, and Google Analytics cookies that tell repeat visits apart. No advertising cookies. The public feed and landing page work without any account.
Retention
Account and workspace data is kept while the workspace exists and for 90 days after it is deleted, then removed except for billing records we must keep for tax and accounting purposes. Delivery records and server logs are kept for up to 12 months. To delete a workspace or your account, write to hello@readthrough.news.
Your rights
You can see and change your workspace settings in the app. You can ask us for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to a particular use, by emailing hello@readthrough.news; we answer within 30 days. Where privacy laws in your jurisdiction give you additional rights, we honor them. Email digests carry a one-click unsubscribe link.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Feed tokens are stored hashed. Access to production systems is limited to the people who operate the service. Sign-in uses one-time codes sent to your email rather than passwords. No system is perfectly secure; if we learn of a breach affecting your data, we will tell you without undue delay.
Children
readthrough is a professional tool and not directed at anyone under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
Changes and contact
We update this policy when the service changes; the effective date at the top moves and material changes are announced in the app or by email. Questions go to JAMN Ventures, LLC at hello@readthrough.news.
